And then I actually became a mom. 🤦‍♀️ And life happened. And then like every other mom on the planet, I question if I'm doing enough. If I'm getting it right. 😩 . . But, then there are moments like this. When your livingroom is filled with little people you adore. There is laughter. Silliness. And so much fun. And you sit back and think, maybe they will be okay after all. 😭 . . Listen, there is no magic formula to parenting. It is one day, one conversation, one event at a time. All they need is for us to keep showing up. Imperfect, tired and (at times) completely unprepared. All they need is for us to open our hearts, our arms and at times our livingroom. 😜 . . Of upsetting the norm and forging my own path - over and over again. My choices were met with resistance. Disapproval. Shame. Excommunication. Rumors. Gossip. A stained reputation. . . Those moments marked me. They ripped my heart out. And just when I thought I could breathe, I would be painfully reminded that my safe places were no longer safe. 💔 . . The journey to follow where Spirit leads is often a lonely one. Where people won't understand. Listen. Or walk with you. It is often because you are challenging what has always been. Who you've been in their eyes. And in their world. Facing That change is hard. 😢 . . If you find yourself breaking away from the pack, my advice is, prepare for others to not understand. Prepare your heart to follow your right path no matter the cost. Because, as one who walked it, I promise EVERY single step is worth it. 🔥 . . Joy, freedom, bravery and courage show up in the wilderness. The right people to walk with you show up in the wild. The next right thing shows up over and over again. But, not really. 😕 What this created was a pattern of making decisions, not based in my feelings or instincts, but rather based in what I was told to do – what I was told was “right”. It slowly eroded my ability to trust my gut – my inner knowing. Which landed me in a whole bucket full of issues. 😢 After climbing my way back into my soul again, I've learned that our feelings are not only connected to Spirit, but they are vital to knowing our next right thing.
