In the quiet hours of these last two weeks, there is a simplicity that has graced the world. A simplicity of what really matters. There will always be disagreements. There will always be different perspectives and various ways to see things. But, what matters isn’t that we are right. Or that we prove our point. These things only lead us to ego. . . What matters is that we find peace. That we let go of resentment. And rather, we land in love. Love is where every journey begins and every journey should end. . . My hope is that through these weeks, we may strive to find common ground. Hope in what binds us together rather than what tears us apart. I pray that at the end of the day, you can release those differences and embrace love and togetherness. Because in the end, love covers all. Love always wins ❤️ . . (Picture from happier days) I am on day 8 of this virus/pneumonia and feeling extremely grateful. After living on anti biotics, steroids and an inhaler this week, I still am struggling to not have a fever and get out of bed. . . For the last 8 days, @marleyann06 has been caring for my children round the clock, making food, cleaning, doing laundry, making sure the girls have what they need, taking care of me - ALL while running her team at work from home and continuing a full-school load. 😭 . . This is just a glimpse of the way she loves us. Every day. Every week. Words just fail - except that I - we - are extremely grateful. 🙏 . . Loving someone well is a gift of choice. It is something for years I wondered if I may ever get to experience. I am beyond thankful for this beautiful human who continues to show up for me and these girls with laughter, joy and endless kindness. . . To quote the Wall Street Journal today, "One of the most important things kindness can do is ease our reaction to stress". Thank you Mar for your kindness when this overwhelmed mom has needed it the most. And thank you to our friends and family who have delivered meals, meds and made sure we were okay. Thank you to ALL of you kindness warriors. Watching the back yard come to life again is medicine for my soul. I was finally able to get outside and breathe in the fresh air. Feeling thankful for the pause and the lessons that nature continues to teach me. All things stop. All living things rest, die and are reborn. Feeling thankful for the air in my lungs today.
