Birds trust their wings. They don’t fret over whether or not they will lead them home. Because once they stretch their wings, instinct takes over. The same is true with the human spirit. When we search inside our soul and find our wings, it can be scary to spread them. Fear may tell us that we will fly the wrong way or go after the wrong thing. But the breath of spirit is in every wing that takes flight - human or not - spirit lights the way home. My dear, you are free to spread those beautiful wings. You are free to take flight and trust that they will know where to go. Those wings will always lead you home ✨
One cannot explore black history without taking a hard look at the white Christian church. Specifically, the role American churches played in systemic racism. History is offering an invitation to acknowledge. To validate. To repent. Tear down the foundations of this system and rebuild on equal grounds.
